The Central Commission for Biological Safety (ZKBS), which issues expert opinions in the field of genetic engineering and is therefore particularly important for practical laboratory work, has revised its website as of July 8, 2021. A look at the new website, which now also "gives a face" to the experts, is definitely worthwhile. In addition to the opinions, the menu item also provides user-friendly access to the databases, commentaries, and other specialist reports. Particularly important for practical work are the databases, which include not only the recipient strains for biological safety measures, but also the oncogene database and the organism database, as well as the vector list and cell line list.
