Following a video conference with the ZKBS Virology Working Group, the ZKBS downgraded the Ba/F3 cell line from risk group (RG) 2 in 2024 back to RG 1.

The ZKBS had only upgraded the Ba/F3 cell line to RG 2 in 2024. Now it has been downgraded back toRG 1.This should be of great interest to those who use the line. The downgrading to risk group 1 was made following the submission of data from sequencing and infection trials with an indicator cell line. The ZKBS has already posted the downgrading on itswebsiteas of January 2025.
