According to information from the individual federal ministries, requirements for participation in a recognized continuing education course, which is required every five years (Section 28 (3) GenTSV (2019)) are currently being circulated among the responsible ministries. In this context, both the "sample certificate" for a continuing education course and the "teaching content for continuing education courses" (curriculum) will have to be changed on the LAG website. The change will probably also affect Form S. Form S was previously used to report changes relating to the project manager (PL) and the biological safety officer (BBS) to the licensing authority. This form currently lacks a passage for the subsequent submission of updated project manager certificates. Since the new GenTSV (2019) does not contain any specific formal requirements for the subsequent submission of an updated project manager certificate, but only stipulates that proof of the update must be provided to the responsible authority (Section 28 (3) Sentence 4 GenTSV (2019)), a Informal submission of a copy of the updated project management certificate to the licensing authority by the operator, i.e., by simple letter. This is an operator obligation, as the operator is responsible for appointing its expert personnel (Section 6 (4) GenTG).
