Dr. Kauch studied at the University of Passau and the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. She earned her doctorate on an environmental law topic and has been working on genetic engineering law since 1992.
She is a lawyer and specialist in administrative law and agricultural law. Dr. Kauch specializes in questions of genetic engineering law and the Biomaterials Ordinance, including ancillary laws. As part of AGCT Consulting GmbH, she supports applications in administrative procedures with the authorities.
She regularly teaches environmental law at the University of Police and Public Administration in Münster. Since 1990 she has been a speaker on genetic engineering law in project management courses in Bochum, Düsseldorf, Jena, Braunschweig, Bielefeld, Cologne and Bonn.
Dr. Kauch has been publishing on genetic engineering law since 1990. She is, among other things, co-author of the textbook Hoppe/Beckmann/Kauch, Environmental Law, 2nd edition, Munich 2000, in which she is responsible for the chapter on genetic engineering law. She has also published chapter 11.7 in the agricultural law handbook by Lutz (ed.), Current Agricultural Law for Practice, Kissing 2003, on the topic of "Introduction to Genetic Engineering Law". In 2009 she published the practical guide "Genetic Engineering Law" with Beck-Verlag. Dr. Kauch founded AGCT in 2008 and in 2018 she co-authored the book Genetic Engineering Laboratory - Guide for Scientists with Dr. Kirsten Bender.
