Dr. Alexander Heinick received his doctorate in 2009 from the Department of Biology at the Institute of Zoophysiology at the University of Münster. Between 2010 and 2023, he was a research associate at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University Hospital Münster. Dr. Heinick has already held project management positions within genetic engineering facilities internally at the institutes since 2010. He was appointed project manager in genetic engineering facilities of safety levels 1 and 2 in early 2021.

Dr. Heinick has been working for AGCT Consulting GmbH as a BBS, consultant, and speaker in the field of genetic engineering and the Biological Agents Ordinance since the end of 2022. At AGCT Consulting GmbH's continuing education events, he lectures on issues related to the construction and equipment of laboratories, production facilities, animal husbandry facilities, greenhouses, and climate chambers of safety levels 1-4, as well as on approval applications for genetic engineering facilities and genetic engineering work. He advises on risk assessments according to the Biological Agents Ordinance and, as a BBS, oversees genetic engineering facilities of safety levels 1 and 2 for AGCT Consulting GmbH.

Dr. Heinick is officially recognized as a project manager and BBS in genetic engineering facilities according to Section 28 Paragraph 2, Section 30 GenTSV and is a qualified person according to Section 2 No. 11 BioStoffV.

Dr. Heinick is also responsible for the areas of genetic engineering and the Biological Agents Ordinance at AGCT Consulting GmbH as a Biosafety Consultant . Since the middle of the year, he has been supporting the management in advising universities and research institutions on the Nagoya Protocol.
